Anniversary
hero-tick

Join us in celebrating our twentieth year!

2024 is an exciting year for LCL Awards! We’re celebrating our twentieth anniversary, which gives us the chance to look back at what we’ve achieved over the last two decades as well as the opportunity to reflect on changes that have occurred within the industry since 2004.

Here are of some of the projects we have in-line for the year ahead:

LCL Awards Annual Forum:

On 5th July we celebrated our anniversary at our annual Forum, which took place at the impressive National Space Centre in Leicester.

Our Forum is always a great event. A chance to catch up with what’s happening in the industry, find out about our latest qualifications and initiatives and network with your peers. This year was even more special.

LCL – The Awards:

We launched our own ‘Awards’ for approved centres, including specific categories focussing on achievements in the fields of gas, electricity and renewables, as well as recognising centres that are going above and beyond when it comes to innovation and inclusivity.

The Award ceremony took place the night before the Forum (4th July) at the Hilton in Leicester, part of the usual pre-forum social. It was a great success, and will become an annual event.

You can find out more about who won, here.

LCL Awards timeline:

We have built a timeline that will chart the main developments in our industry since we began - and how LCL Awards has responded to them. We’ve tracked the growth of renewables, for example, and looked at how the delivery of teaching has changed over the years to bring qualifications to a wider range of learners.

Celebrating our centres and staff:

We want this year to be a celebration of the contributions of our staff and approved centres, so we're on the lookout for interesting stories and events – about your centre and the people you train.

LCL Awards centres with a story to tell should contact Emily Hedges. We’d love to hear from you - whether you’re one of our oldest centres or have just joined the family!

Focus on inclusivity:

Our Inclusivity Charter has been reviewed this year to make it more robust and all-encompassing, focussing on improving delivery and access to learning for people from all walks of life. An update to the Charter was presented by Aarron Grell at the Forum.

20 years of growth and success

Over the last two-decades, LCL Awards has grown to become one of the UK’s foremost awarding organisation and certification bodies, offering qualifications and training courses through a network of around 160 approved centres nationwide.

As the sector has changed, we have responded, often the first to market with qualifications essential to the modern building services installer. The move towards green energy and a short fall in the engineers required to realise the UK's net zero targets make the work we do all the more important.

There’s never been a more exciting or crucial time for those delivering qualifications and training to the building services sector. Here’s to the next 20 years!

View our timeline to see the main developments in our industry since we began - and how LCL Awards has responded to them.
