About Us

LCL Awards is one of the Building Services Engineering (BSE) sectors foremost awarding organisation and certification bodies, offering qualifications and training courses via a network of approximately 160 approved centres located nationwide.

We issue certificates and awards qualifications in the following sectors:  gas heating, oil heating, energy efficiency, plumbing and electro-technical. In addition, we have developed industry-qualifications for refrigeration and renewable technologies. 

LCL Awards is;

• A UKAS accredited certification body No. 0230 accredited in accordance with BS EN ISO/IEC 17024:2012 Conformity Assessment – General Requirements for Bodies Operating Certification of Persons in accordance with our schedule of accreditation as published on the UKAS website
• A recognised Awarding Organisation who award regulated qualifications to learners in within our scope of recognition granted by the qualification regulators in England, Wales and Northern Ireland namely;
  • The Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) in England
  • Qualifications Wales (QW) in Wales
  • CCEA Regulation in Northern Ireland

We are also a training provider recognised by IGEM to deliver Managed Learning Programmes (MLP) for new entrant learners to the downstream gas industry.

Our renewable qualifications are recognised by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) Registration Bodies. Installation businesses must be MCS registered in order for their customers to take advantage of any UK government funding for the installation of renewable technology.

We also offer the following LCL Awards approved courses including; Domestic Electrical Installer, Hot Water Systems and Safety (Part G, including Unvented Hot Water), Water Regulations and Legionella Prevention.
