LCL Awards Forum line up for 2026 – not to be missed!

20 May 2026

We’ve put together an exciting programme of workshops for this year’s Forum, taking place at the Hilton NEC on Friday 26 June, the day after our glittering Awards Ceremony at the same venue and following the Installer Show.

Here’s a preview of what’s in store:

Mandatory Technical Competencies

David Cowburn from the Heat Pump Association and a member of the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) Committee will lead a session on Mandatory Technical Competencies across the building services industry.

This important session will explore how the Building Safety Act 2022 is shaping training, assessment and qualifications, including the requirement for verified competence for all individuals working within the built environment.

Streamlining centre management with Endeavour

George Oakley and Rachel Harrison of Gordon Associates will introduce the new Endeavour Training and Customer Management System - a cloud-based platform designed specifically for training centres. The system can manage your entire operation, from enquiries and scheduling through to invoicing and results logging.

A key feature is its direct API integration with Parnassus, allowing learner registration information and grades to be exported with a single click, removing the need for duplicate data entry. Built with gas, plumbing and electrical training centres in mind, Endeavour is designed to simplify day-to-day administration and improve efficiency.

Heat Training Grants & Net Zero opportunities

Ben-Franklin Ndukwu from Midlands Net Zero Hub will discuss the Heat Training Grant for Heat Pump and Low Temperature Heating Design training, as well as other opportunities for training centres to become involved in areas such as Heat Networks and wider net zero initiatives.

Unlocking opportunities through APHC membership

Kyri Kyriacou, of the APHC (Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors), will be hosting a workshop exploring ways to bridge qualification gaps and unlock new business opportunities in the plumbing and heating sector through membership of the APHC. His session will highlight essential training routes, accreditation schemes, and how APHC membership can benefit both training centres and installers; helping you promote your courses to a wider audience in order to support growth and increased learner uptake.

How to market your centre online

Looking for practical ways to use the internet to promote your centre and grow your business? Jessica Lowe and Jonny Lawrence will deliver a digital marketing-focused workshop, packed with useful ideas and strategies, focussing on the latest online developments for 2026.

Heating design workshop

Our Operations Manager, Steve Mulvany, will be joined by Ahmed Hegazi, Head of Knowledge and Digital at CIBSE, and Dr Jaydeep Bhadra, Domestic Sector Technical Manager at CIBSE, to deliver a specialist session on heating design, following the launch of CIBSE’s new 2026 guide on the subject.

Plumbing industry update

Jerry Whiteley from CIPHE will join our new Qualification Manager, Toni Oakley-Tulk, for a plumbing industry update workshop. The session will cover the new Level 2 and Level 3 Plumbing & Heating Engineer Apprenticeship Standards currently being developed by industry to reflect changing sector needs and create greater opportunities for employers and apprentices entering the industry through training centres.

From passive to participatory: hands-on with immersive learning

James Pallister from Metaverse Learning will run an interactive workshop exploring the use of immersive learning technologies.

The session will provide a practical introduction to tools such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and browser-based simulations. Delegates will complete a short digital confidence quiz before taking part in a guided immersive learning experience using Metaverse Learning content.

This workshop will demonstrate how immersive technologies can improve learner engagement, accessibility, confidence, and real-world skills development. Delegates are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet to take part fully.

We strongly encourage you to book your workshops as soon as possible, as places are limited, and we’d hate for you to miss out.
