The search is on: LCL Awards Trainee of the Year 2025
29 Apr 2025

For the first time ever, LCL Awards is proud to launch a brand-new category: Trainee of the Year.
This award is a celebration of any trainee recognised as going above and beyond in building services engineering. Whether new to the trade, a seasoned professional or making a career change, we’d love to hear their story.
We’re looking for trainees who have undertaken any LCL Awards qualification since January 2024, including candidates still in training.
Mark Krull, Director at LCL Awards, explains why we’ve introduced this new category:
“The introduction of the Trainee of the Year Award offers a valuable opportunity to highlight the hard work and interesting stories of trainees, which are the ultimate testament to the high standards of education and support provided by our centres. The continued success of LCL Awards over the past two decades wouldn’t have been possible without our centres, they are the cornerstone of our business and essential advocates for our qualifications.”
Does your centre have the very first LCL Awards’ Trainee of the Year?
We hear lots of great LCL Award trainee success stories - individuals who have overcome adversity, persevered despite barriers to learning, embraced a career change or simply those who are passionate about the industry and delivering the essential skills of the future.
This award is about recognising a stand-out trainee! Someone who has shown extraordinary commitment, determination and passion.
We’re looking for someone who:
-
Has shown resilience or overcome challenges in their training journey
-
Has excelled academically or practically
-
Has made a positive impact on their peers or learning environment
-
Has demonstrated a genuine passion for building services engineering
-
Is upskilling with a clear vision of their role in the industry’s future
Do any of your trainees fit the bill - could one of your students be the very first LCL Awards Trainee of the Year?
What’s in it for the winner?
The winner of LCL Awards Trainee of the year 2024-25 will receive:
-
An Award and certificate, presented by a member of the LCL Awards team
-
A professional tool bag tailored to your chosen areas of building services
-
Publicity on our website, social media and in the trade press
Please note: attendance at the Awards ceremony is not required.
We encourage LCL Awards centres to get involved. This is your chance to be recognised as a rising star in the building services industry.
