History
Logic Certification Limited (LCL Awards) was started in 2004 as a United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) certification body No. 0230 accredited to BS EN ISO 17024. Initially, Logic Certification delivered certificates of competence purely for the Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS), which is a pre requisite qualification for gas fitting operatives registering with the Gas Safe Register.
The growth of Logic Certification has been in response to industry and centre requirements. Over the years we have developed examination, assessment and training support packages designed to improve the competence standards of those employed in building services engineering (BSE). We have expanded our awards to include other occupational areas; oil, electrical, plumbing, and environmental technologies, to cover a wide range of skills within the BSE sector.
In 2009 Logic Certification recognised that changes proposed to the national qualification market and the introduction and development of the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) presented both a challenge and an opportunity. In May 2011 Logic Certification was formally recognised by Ofqual as an Awarding Organisation able to develop, deliver and award QCF qualifications within England, Wales and Northern Ireland. On the 1st May 2012 Logic Certification had its first qualification recognised on the Ofqual RITS register. On the 1st October 2015 the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) replaced the QCF in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Note: LCL Awards is regulated by; Qualification Wales for the qualifications we award in Wales, CCEA qualifications awarded in Northern Ireland and OFQUAL for qualifications awarded in England.
In June 2019 Logic Certification Limited undertook a rebranding process and is now trading under the title of LCL Awards.
