Background |
The UK water industry accepts mechanical backflow protection as a suitable approach under specified circumstances to prevent backflow and potential contamination of the water supply. It is a legal requirement that mechanical backflow protection devices are installed, periodically inspected & tested and maintained correctly to protect the water supply from contamination and the health of the public. The LCL Awards RPZ Valve Testers course is based on the requirements and guidance of the water suppliers recognized Approved Installation Method AIM Issue 3 2025 and has been recognised by the Water Industry Approved Plumber Scheme WIAPS. Note: For Water Companies who do not subscribe to WIAPS, or who operate their own Approved Contractor Scheme confirmation of recognition of the LCL Awards RPZ valve testers certificate should be sought from them directly. |
