Background |
The Foundation certificate in heating and hot water design course is aimed at installers who have recently entered the industry or have little or no experience in the area of heating system design. The course is particularly useful for candidates moving in to the renewables industry, in particular the installation of ground and air source heat pumps, or for underfloor heating industry where accurate heat loss calculations are of paramount importance. The course will provide a good level of understanding for the design and specification of basic domestic heating systems, as well as size hot water storage cylinders. In addition, heating and hot water design will act as a stepping stone for operatives who wish to go on and complete the IDHEE full diploma. The course is accepted by IDHEE as a unit credit and will save two days attendance on the full diploma course. The course is based upon the CIBSE Domestic Heating Design Guide (DHDG) 2017 available direct from CIBSE. |
