National Heat Pump Week 2026 – what’s on and how to get involved

05 Oct 2026

The UK’s first National Heat Pump Week takes place from 12th to 16th October 2026.

Brought to you by the Heat Pump Association (HPA UK) and the team behind InstallerSHOW, the week will include webinars, interviews and industry insights that explore the issues and opportunities facing the heat pump sector.

For LCL Awards approved centres, it’s a great opportunity to put your heat pump training in the spotlight, engage with potential learners and employers, and show how your centre is helping to develop the skilled workforce needed for the future of heating.

Building the heat pump installer base
Heat pumps are becoming an increasingly important part of the UK heating landscape, with HPA UK reporting more than 125,000 heat pumps sold in the UK in 2025, a 27% increase compared with the previous year. But growing the number of installations also means growing the workforce capable of designing, installing, commissioning and maintaining these systems.

Training centres play a key role in upskilling the installer base and we’ve seen some inspiring examples from LCL Awards centres in recent years, from Daikin Manchester Training Academy’s use of live heat pump systems, VR technology and blended learning, to Staffordshire Training Services, who helped experienced heating engineer Carly Gayle develop the F-Gas skills needed to move into a specialist role working with Baxi’s heat pump range.

An opportunity for your training centre
If your centre delivers LCL Awards heat pump qualifications, National Heat Pump Week is a great opportunity to remind potential learners and employers about the training you offer and what makes your centre different.

Sharing your centre’s experience can help potential learners understand the opportunities within the heat pump sector and what developing their skills in this area involves.

And if you’re not currently delivering heat pump training, National Heat Pump Week is also an opportunity to learn more about the heat pump sector and consider how heat pump and other low-carbon qualifications could fit within your future course offering.

LCL Awards offers heat pump qualifications covering the core knowledge and skills associated with heat pump systems, together with technology-specific pathways for air source and ground source heat pumps. Approved Centres interested in adding heat pump qualifications to their scope can contact the LCL Awards team to discuss the approval requirements and support available.

How can you get involved?
There are plenty of ways for LCL Awards centres to take part, whether you want to run a full campaign or simply share a few updates during the week.

1. Promote your heat pump courses: Use National Heat Pump Week as a reason to put your heat pump training in front of your audience.

Share your upcoming course dates, explain who the training is for and highlight what the qualification covers and the knowledge and skills a learner can gain.

Remember that your audience may include experienced heating engineers who are considering developing their skills in heat pump installation, as well as people looking to develop a career in low-carbon heating.

2. Showcase your training facilities: Give prospective learners a look behind the scenes.

Photos or videos of your heat pump training equipment, practical sessions and facilities can be a great way of showing prospective learners how theoretical knowledge is supported by practical, hands-on experience.

3. Share a learner success story: Have you recently trained someone who has used their new knowledge and skills to develop their work in the heat pump sector?

A short case study could cover why they decided to train, what they learned and how the qualification has helped them develop their career. Real experiences can be a powerful way to demonstrate the value of heat pump training to prospective learners.

4. Get your trainers involved: Your trainers have valuable knowledge to share, so why not put them in the spotlight?

You could ask a trainer to record a short video answering a common heat pump question, write a short article about their experience or share practical insights for anyone considering heat pump training.

National Heat Pump Week is specifically designed to share technical insight and practical knowledge, making it a great opportunity to showcase the expertise within your centre.

5. Use social media: Share what your centre is doing throughout the week on LinkedIn, Facebook or other social channels.

You could post:
•    Photos from a practical training session
•    A learner or trainer success story
•    Information about your upcoming courses
•    A quick heat pump fact or myth-busting post
•    A video tour of your training facilities
•    A reminder about how potential learners can find out more

And don’t forget to tag LCL Awards in your LinkedIn posts - we’d love to see how centres are getting involved and, where appropriate, share your content with our network.
