Introducing the judges for LCL The Awards 2026

04 Jun 2026

Now in its third year, LCL The Awards is coming up fast and we’re excited to introduce our independent panel of judges – some familiar faces and a new member of the panel.

Meet the judges:

New judge! Jerry Whitely is Technical Manager for CIPHE and has played a major role in helping the government design the new plumbing apprenticeship that our centres will be able to deliver from this Autumn. For the last two years he has been working with Government, Skills England, Defra and the UK’s Awarding Organisations on plans for the new scheme, which will offer learners a more adaptable approach to learning through the apprenticeship model.

Stewart Clements is Director of The Heating & Hot water Industry Council (HHIC), the Trade Association that represents the domestic heating market in the UK. He studied Law at Bedford College before taking the Director’s Programme at Cranfield University where he gained a thorough grounding in business; global account management forecasting and sales force management.  After almost thirty years working in the heating manufacturing industry, he became Technical Director of HHIC in 2013 and Director in 2014.

Hattie Hasan MBE knows better than most the challenges that face women working in the Building Services sector as she became an apprentice and trained as a plumber after working as a teacher in inner-city schools.  After 15 years working as a plumber, she founded Stopcocks, and began mentoring and promoting female plumbers, who still only make up around 3% of the construction workforce and less than 1% of plumbers in the UK.

Hattie was awarded an MBE in the 2020 New Year’s Honours List and has become a recognised spokeswoman for women in the trades. She helped us shape our Inclusivity Charter and in 2017 founded an annual event for women in the Trades, called Women Installers Together. We’re delighted that she will be joining us in person for our Awards evening this year.

Charlotte Lee has been the CEO of the Heat Pump Association (HPA) since 2023. Prior to that she spent 10 years at NAPIT in various roles before becoming their head of external affairs. Charlotte has a wealth of knowledge about heat pumps and the importance of industry collaboration in increasing consumer knowledge and the demand for renewables. She also has a great appreciation for the role of the installer in retrofitting the UK’s housing stock. If you’re visiting the Installer Show this year, Charlotte will be one of the speakers.
