Join us in celebrating our twentieth year!

07 Feb 2024

2024 is an exciting year for LCL Awards!  We’re celebrating our twentieth anniversary, which gives us the chance to look back at what we’ve achieved over the last two decades as well as the opportunity to reflect on changes that have occurred within the industry since 2004. We’ll also be looking forward at future developments and changes to industry. There’s never been a more exciting or crucial time for those delivering qualifications and training to the building services sector.

The move towards green energy and a short fall in the engineers required to realise the UK’s net zero targets make the work we do all the more important.

Here are of some of the projects we have in line for the year ahead:

  • On 5th July we'll be celebrating our anniversary at our annual Forum, at the impressive National Space Centre in Leicester. Watch this 'space' for more details.
  • We'll be building a timeline that will chart the main developments in our industry since we began - any how LCL Awards has responded to them. We'll track the growth of renewables, for example, and look at how the delivery of teaching has changed over the years to bring qualifications in a wider range of learners. We'll look at the impact of Covid and reflect on the shifts it has lead to in terms of our own business and the sector as a whole.
  • We want this year to be a celebration of the contributions of our staff and approved centres, so we'll be on the lookout for interesting stories and events - about your centre and people you train. LCL Awards centres with a story to tell should contact Emily Hedges emily@jellopr.co.uk. We'd love to hear from you - whether you're one of oldest centres or have just joined the family.
  • In March, to coincide with International Women's Day, we'll be celebrating our Inclusivity Charter with case studies about centres that have gone the extra mile to welcome and cater for a wider range of learners.
  • As one of the UK's foremost awarding organisation and certification bodies, offering qualifications and training courses through a network of around 160 approved centres nationwide, we'll also be taking a step back from our own celebrations and looking further ahead; at what the future has in store for our exciting and in-demand sector.

There will of course, be more information on all of this over the next few months, but we’re excited to be sharing this anniversary year with you and look forward to celebrating together throughout 2024.
