Free renewables training in Northumberland

LCL centre, NAREC Distributed Energy, based in the National Renewable Energy Centre in Blyth, Northumberland has been awarded funding for two of our renewables qualifications they are running this Autumn - Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems, starting on the 31st October and Heat Pump training on the 7th November.
The courses are targeted at both employed or self-employed people working related trades such as heating, plumbing and electrics, as well as architects, structural engineers and energy consultants. Training is designed to give candidates the practical knowledge and experience to extend their skill set and open the door to up-skilling opportunities in the renewables sector.
Tom Bradley, Senior Project Engineer at NDE said: “There is a growing demand for expertise in these renewable technologies so this is a great opportunity for suitable candidates in the North East to up-skill. Homeowners are increasingly looking for greener ways to heat and power their properties, and trades’ people equipped with the right knowledge and skills to advise on and install renewable technologies are future proofing their business. Ultimately, at some point, we will move away from fossil fuels.”
To be eligible, a candidate must work for themselves or a company based in the North East LEP area (Northumberland, County Durham or Tyne & Wear). They should be a sole trader or SME (under 250 employees and under £40 million turnover), and be undertaking the course for the first time.

- 31st October: Installation and Maintenance of Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems - LCL Level 3 Course – duration 4 days
- 7th November: Installation and Maintenance of Heat Pump Systems -LCL Level 3 Course – duration 4 days
